A washed Red Bourbon selection from Alexis and Aime’s ‘Gitesi Washing Station’ in the Karongi District of Rwandas west. Gitesi collects cherries from 1800 smallholder farmers from the region, and the reason why we chose this coffee was simple: we haven't had a nice Rwanda in a while! In Rwanda they remove 70% of mucilage and ferment dry for 12 hours before washing, extra soaking and then drying for around 15 days. We tasted a round and sweet cup, reminding us of purple fruits, florals, orange choc chip cookie, with a winey acidity toward the back.
Friedhats was founded by four-time Dutch Barista Champion Lex Wenneker and Dylan Sedgwick, and they roast in Amsterdam, The Netherlands. This coffee was roasted on 18.2.2025.
This coffee is 250g. We recommend drinking it 3 to 12 weeks after roast, and storing in an airtight container.
