ken-maguta-copy
Maguta Estate (FKA "KEN")

A CM washed SL28 and SL34 lot from David Ngibuini's 'Maguta Estate' in Nyeri & Embu, Kenya. Maguta Estate collects cherries from the Murware Farmers who operate in the Muruguru area, spanning Nyeri and Embu. But it was Ngibuini's passion for experimentation and coffees that were amplifying the possibility of Kenyan coffees that caught our eye: this CM washed selection challenges bold and overt red tones you might expect, presenting orange blossom, white currant and orange whilst hot, cooling toward red apple, blackcurrant juice and black tea whilst cool. This week we tasted blackcurrant, and rose whilst hot, cooling toward a jammy albiet floral vibe à la lemon sherbet and roseship! We have since learned "Ken" was just short for "Kenya" on our importers list, lol

Changer was founded by James Perry and they roast in Canberra, Australia. We share several roast dates for your choosing, but don't recommend this coffee to be brewed until two weeks post roast. We suggest a longer yield for espressos for this coffee, about 1:3.5.

This coffee is 200g. We recommend drinking it 3 to 12 weeks after roast, and storing in an airtight container.
