A washed Red Bourbon from Alirio Ortega’s ‘El Roble’ in Bruselas, Huila, Colombia. El Roble is an exceptional farm, where they cultivate many unique varieties alongside beans, plantain and corn, all fertilised with organic homemade composts. Very cool to have two similar-yet-contrasting varieties here, with the Red B almost feeling Kenya-esque: ripe red fruits, crisp apple and blackcurrant dominated the hot pass, and as it cooled it shifted toward rosehip and blueberries with a winey and complex aftertaste!
